Gingham x Leather

Dress - Marc by Marc Jacobs | Jacket - Miss Selfridge (similar) | Heels - Madewell (cute alternate here!) | Shades - Banana Republic (love these) | Clutch - J.Crew Factory | Pearls - Graduation Gift, options available here

I scooped up this dress during an online sale a little while ago and had been patiently waiting for the change to wear it out. The style and pink gingham pattern are so feminine and I officially fell in love when I noticed its little details (bow in the back and there's actually a cellphone pocket in the front!).

 Happy MDW, everyone!

PSA: With all the activities on Memorial Day happening, remember to apply sunscreen! I learned my lesson yesterday when I forgot to put some on for a track meet where I sat in the sun all day. Needless to say, I'm pretty pink and sore (as you can see in some of these pictures). I'm taking this experience as a sign I need to invest in a cute sun hat :)

Casual Sunday

Trench Coat - Banana Republic // Vest- J.Crew // Turtleneck - J.Crew // Jeans - BKE Denim // Shoes - BCBGeneration // Purse - Dooney & Bourke // Bracelet - Target // Necklace - Thrifted

The weather this weekend was beyond amazing...for March in Michigan that is :). I was able to comfortably wear my trench coat and at points no coat at all! The cold February sure is tough to get through, but it truly does make you appreciate the rising temperature!

This past week has been really great having my sisters in town and my cousin over the weekend. We ate a lot of delicious food, had some good talks over drinks and coffee (and more food), and acted like our crazy selves like we always do when we are together.

I'm sad to see them go, but I won't lie that I'm happy to get back to my normal eating routine. Don't get me wrong, I love eating out, but after so many days of it I just felt sluggish and bloated blah.

Luckily the weather was so nice today and I could enjoy a nice walk with my mom, followed by an entertaining run through town with my friend. It feels so good to start the week with some exercise! Hopefully this will help motivate me to keep up with the routine :)

Happy Spring Forward! :)

A Week of Thanks

Coat: Banana Republic (old, but similar here), Shirt (not seen): Forever 21, Scarf: J.Crew (old), Leggings: Hollister (old), Booties: Report via Piperlime

As I've gotten older, Thanksgiving has climbed up my list of favorite holidays. It isn't often that my sisters and I are able to be together for more than a day, let alone with our cousins and extended family. This week of family really made me realize just how lucky I am for the great people in my life and their good company, who are always a source of laughter and joy that kick-starts the holiday season on a happy note.
