Studs + Florals

Dress - Darling (old, have my eye on this one next) | Shoes - Valentino | Clutch - J.Crew Factory (old, similar) | Jacket - Bar III (cute version here) | Shades - Ray-Ban

I picked this dress up a couple summers ago at London's Topshop and it has been sitting pretty (pun intended) in my closet ever since. I had been saving it for a special occasion, like a wedding or something of that nature, but as the perfect opportunity never seem to arise I decided it was too nice to just sit around and wore it out for a casual evening with my sister. I'm the person in my family where it would be no surprise to anyone if I showed up to a barbecue wearing a ballgown, so this wasn't too out of the ordinary for me :)

We spent the evening walking around the local university's campus talking and taking pictures, and as the night went on I realized this might not have been a wedding, but it was still a pretty special occasion in its own way. My little sister and I don't get many opportunities to spend much time together with her at school most of the year and me working full-time, so a night just between the two of us is a rare event. Definitely ballgown-worthy :)

p.s. Enjoy my awkward tan-lines! I got sunburnt at a softball game a couple weeks ago, but only the parts of my body exposed to the sun hitting them from the left leaving me looking like Harvey Dent aka half-tanned face with a super tan left arm and a tan right inner forearm, but pale outside right arm!

Welcome to the Jungle

Shirt - Topshop // Shorts - J.Crew (old, similar here and here) // Purse - J.Crew Factory // Shoes - Valentino // Turquoise Cuff - Local Boutique (love this one!) // Friendship Bracelet - Made by me :)

Hola lovelies!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Unfortunately for me, I came down with a sinus infection Thursday night and spent the last few days not feeling the best. I had made it through multiple rounds of what seemed like the plague at work sick-free and thought I was in the clear. And of course it seems you always get sick before the weekend, right?

With that being said, getting sick provided me with the opportunity to slow down and just relaxxxx. Oftentimes my weekends are go-go-go, and by the time Monday rolls around I'm still worn out and in in need of a recharge. I won't lie that it's been pretty nice to lounge around, scroll through Pinterest, and window shop online for a good portion of my day ;) Now if I could only find a way to do that when I'm healthy and get paid for it, then life would be good!

P.S. One last photo for your enjoyment...me just trying to blend into my surroundings ;) After so many pictures, things start to get weird!

Studs + Leopard

 Shirt - a.n.a // Jeans - J.Crew Factory // Heels - Valentino // Shades - Illesteva // Purse - Milly // Necklace - Urban Outfitters

I snagged these jeans in a half asleep purchase while perusing online sales and while that may have been an extremely dumb idea, these jeans are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I could live in them every day they are so comfortable! I have a feeling these will be well worn for quite a while :)

I sized up when buying them since I have larger calves and was expecting these to be a skinny jean, but they haphazardly became the perfect boyfriend jean for my body type! Gotta love spontaneous purchases that work out so even better than anticipated!...not that I should encourage myself from doing it again...like right now ;)

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

T-shirt - Nike // Jacket - Mango (similar here in white) // Pants - J.Crew // Shoes - Valentino // Necklace - Urban Outfitters // Shades - Ray-Ban

Springtime = Baseball time here in The Mitten, and I finally was able to experience it on Monday! I recently won a pair of tickets to a Tigers game through work - thanks to my guesstimation skills on how many peanuts were in a jar - and so my Dad and I made the trip to the Motor City to watch our team beat the Twins! It was a gorgeous spring evening and a fun game and now I definitely have to go back for some more!

I picked up this shirt at the ballpark and I can't seem to take it off...the material is so soft and comfortable I just want to live in it forever! Plus it is my favorite color shade of gray and has the old Tigers logo that I love. You can bet this will be part of my summer uniform, and hopefully makes another appearance at Comerica Park soon!
