Ripped Denim x Neon

Top - Forever 21 (old, very similar option here) | Cami - J.Crew Factory (on sale!) | Jeans - AG Adriano Goldschmied | Shoes - J.Crew (old, cute pair here) | Clutch - J.Crew Factory (love this option) | Shades - Ray-Ban

I wore this outfit to a Cinco de Mayo party a few weeks ago and had to recycle it again this weekend. It's finally summer weather and while I love my neutrals (I sometimes wonder if gray is my favorite color), I can't resist a look with a good pop of color!

I had accidentally shrunk the top (I'm apparently still learning how to do laundry) and it had been sitting in my closet pretty much since I wore it on my Italy trip (post here). Luckily, crop tops are in now and I don't feel as silly wearing it out and about. I layered it with a cami that perfectly matched the embroidery for a weekend gathering to be a little more family friendly.

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend with family and friends!

Side story: I thought this shirt was ruined at the Cinco party after a whole glass of red sangria spilled on my back (risks of taking group photos at a party centered around tequila I guess ;) ). By some miracle I managed to get the entire thing out! It may be shrunk, but it isn't stained :)

Studs + Florals

Dress - Darling (old, have my eye on this one next) | Shoes - Valentino | Clutch - J.Crew Factory (old, similar) | Jacket - Bar III (cute version here) | Shades - Ray-Ban

I picked this dress up a couple summers ago at London's Topshop and it has been sitting pretty (pun intended) in my closet ever since. I had been saving it for a special occasion, like a wedding or something of that nature, but as the perfect opportunity never seem to arise I decided it was too nice to just sit around and wore it out for a casual evening with my sister. I'm the person in my family where it would be no surprise to anyone if I showed up to a barbecue wearing a ballgown, so this wasn't too out of the ordinary for me :)

We spent the evening walking around the local university's campus talking and taking pictures, and as the night went on I realized this might not have been a wedding, but it was still a pretty special occasion in its own way. My little sister and I don't get many opportunities to spend much time together with her at school most of the year and me working full-time, so a night just between the two of us is a rare event. Definitely ballgown-worthy :)

p.s. Enjoy my awkward tan-lines! I got sunburnt at a softball game a couple weeks ago, but only the parts of my body exposed to the sun hitting them from the left leaving me looking like Harvey Dent aka half-tanned face with a super tan left arm and a tan right inner forearm, but pale outside right arm!

Welcome to the Jungle

Shirt - Topshop // Shorts - J.Crew (old, similar here and here) // Purse - J.Crew Factory // Shoes - Valentino // Turquoise Cuff - Local Boutique (love this one!) // Friendship Bracelet - Made by me :)

Hola lovelies!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Unfortunately for me, I came down with a sinus infection Thursday night and spent the last few days not feeling the best. I had made it through multiple rounds of what seemed like the plague at work sick-free and thought I was in the clear. And of course it seems you always get sick before the weekend, right?

With that being said, getting sick provided me with the opportunity to slow down and just relaxxxx. Oftentimes my weekends are go-go-go, and by the time Monday rolls around I'm still worn out and in in need of a recharge. I won't lie that it's been pretty nice to lounge around, scroll through Pinterest, and window shop online for a good portion of my day ;) Now if I could only find a way to do that when I'm healthy and get paid for it, then life would be good!

-Meagan :)

P.S. One last photo for your enjoyment...me just trying to blend into my surroundings ;) After so many pictures, things start to get weird!

Sea of Blues {In my Happy Place}

 Jacket - Tory Burch // Sweater - Ann Taylor (similar) // Shirt - J.Crew (on sale!) // Pants - J.Crew Factory (on sale for 50% off!) // Shoes - Sperry // Purse - Dooney & Bourke (want this bag!) // Shades - Ray-Ban

I've been home for less than 24 hours and am already daydreaming of being Up North again. Caribbean blue water, the best chocolate chip cookies in the world, Roast & Toast coffee, and laughing until you cry playing games with the family. Yep, I need to go back ASAP.

Hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Weekend!

Studs + Leopard

 Shirt - a.n.a // Jeans - J.Crew Factory // Heels - Valentino // Shades - Illesteva // Purse - Milly // Necklace - Urban Outfitters

I snagged these jeans in a half asleep purchase while perusing online sales and while that may have been an extremely dumb idea, these jeans are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I could live in them every day they are so comfortable! I have a feeling these will be well worn for quite a while :)

I sized up when buying them since I have larger calves and was expecting these to be a skinny jean, but they haphazardly became the perfect boyfriend jean for my body type! Gotta love spontaneous purchases that work out so even better than anticipated!...not that I should encourage myself from doing it again...like right now ;)

She's Always Buzzing Just Like Neon

Dress - J.Crew (old, crave-worthy dress here) // Shoes - Madewell (similar) // Clutch - J.Crew Factory // Hat - J.Crew (25% off sale going on now!) // Jewelry - J.Crew, H&M, Urban Outfitters // Shades - Ray-Ban // Nails - Essie "avenue maintain"

Wearing and accessorizing with bright, neon colors is an easy way to add a little happiness to your day. Bold and bright colors are a favorite of mine come spring and don't leave my wardrobe rotation until it snows (and maybe then some).

It's funny to think that when I was little my favorite color was black! It was all I wanted to wear and the only marker I would use for drawing pictures. Dark colors and black are still a favorite of mine, but luckily I've opened up to other hues outside of the grayscale ;)

On the Banks of the Grand River

Coat - J.Crew // Shirt - J.Crew Factory // Pants - Hollister // Boots - Report // Purse - J.Crew // Gloves - C. Wonder // Necklace - C. Wonder // Sunglasses - Steve Madden // Beanie - Target

My parents and I made the weekly commute to Western Michigan to visit my sisters and watch the littlest one race. The campus where my sisters go to school is divided by this deep ravine and the students pass over this bridge to get from one point of campus to the next. The blend of nature and campus reminded me so much of my alma mater and made me miss it dearly. I can't believe it's nearly been a year since I graduated! It kind of scares me how fast time went by...so much has changed since graduation, it only makes me wonder where I will be this time one year from now. The thought is frightening and exciting!

Where and what do you imagine yourself doing one year from now?
For me, my dream has been to live and work in DC. I don't know what I'd be doing for employment, I just want to be living in the nation's capitol. If in one year I am sitting in an apartment in DC reading this post, I'll be one happy girl :)
