Autumn Sunsets and Plaid

Jacket - Mango (old, similar here) // Sweater - J.Crew // Shirt - H&M (similar) // Pants - H&M (love these) // Shoes - no brand, Keds version here // Necklace - J.Crew (on sale!) // Purse - Milly (old, loving this bag)

I had my dad snap a few pictures of my outfit before my sister and I went out this evening (sorry for the slight bluriness..silly daylight savings time and work). It was my mom's turn to host the neighborhood ladies' monthly Bunco night, which means the rest of us had the choice to hide in our rooms for the entire evening or retreat. We chose the latter and down in a nearby coffee shop.

I won't lie, being at the coffee shop *almost* made me miss being in school, but only because I miss having a purpose for why I'm hanging out there for hours at a time. Nowadays I feel a little silly when I hang out at my local coffee shop when all I'm doing is scrolling through Pinterest and online window shopping, even though it doesn't stop me from doing just that :).

However, I must say it felt pretty good tonight overhearing the group of girls behind me diligently working on a presentation and paper knowing all I had on my agenda was look at pretty pictures of clothes, food, cities, and baby animals :)

Studs + Leopard

 Shirt - a.n.a // Jeans - J.Crew Factory // Heels - Valentino // Shades - Illesteva // Purse - Milly // Necklace - Urban Outfitters

I snagged these jeans in a half asleep purchase while perusing online sales and while that may have been an extremely dumb idea, these jeans are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I could live in them every day they are so comfortable! I have a feeling these will be well worn for quite a while :)

I sized up when buying them since I have larger calves and was expecting these to be a skinny jean, but they haphazardly became the perfect boyfriend jean for my body type! Gotta love spontaneous purchases that work out so even better than anticipated!...not that I should encourage myself from doing it again...like right now ;)

Luck o' the Irish

 Coat - H&M // Sweater - Borrowed from Grandma :) // Skirt - J.Crew (on major sale here!) // Heels - Kelly&Katie (similar) // Earrings - Pearl Paradise // Necklace - Baublebar // Purse - Milly (on sale!)

Every year in college St. Patrick's Day magically fell on an unseasonably warm day in March. Last year I ran around campus wearing shorts and it was 80 degrees! Unfortunately with my days of being an undergrad done, it seems as though the St. Patty's Day warm streak ended as well. I'm not sure if you can tell, but it was f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g cold out when I snapped these shots of my work party outfit. Let's hope for some Irish luck that the weekend will warm up a wee bit to make the celebrations even more enjoyable! Where's a leprechaun when you need one? :)

Until we meet again ;)

23

I had a great weekend of birthday celebrations: there was a lot of eating, watching other people work out, quality family time, and more eating :).

Turning 23 takes me back to my high school days of AP Government, where our class had a running joke about the number 23, based of the suspense thriller movie with Jim Carrey. The movie I guess revolves around this theory how all these bad events that have happened throughout history involve the number 23 in some way. I don't think any of us in the class had even seen the movie, but anytime the number popped up we'd all go "ooooh" and act scared and we thought we were hilarious but really we were a bunch of dorks.

Because of that, I had been having a little mental "oooh" about this birthday, but the day has passed and so far so good *knocks on wood*. With that being said, here's to a year of good memories and new beginnings!

Matthei Botanical Gardens

Shirt: LOFT (similar) // Coat: H&M (similar) // Leggings: Paige Denim // Shoes: Lacoste (old, want these!) // Purse: Milly

This afternoon I went with my parents to the Matthei Botanical Gardens. We used to visit often when my sisters and I were very young but I hadn't been back since those days, so I was really excited to check it out. I was especially looking forward to practicing my manual and macro photography skills I have been reading up on...until I got there and my camera screen read "charge battery"...oops :(. The conservatory was too pretty though to not capture on camera, so enjoy some not so great iphone photos!
