Red, White, and Plaid

Jacket - Miss Selfridge // Sweater- Forever 21 (love this one!) // Jeans - 7FAM // Boots - Old Navy (old, similar here) // Hat - J.Crew // Scarf - Local shop // Purse - Coach (vintage, similar option here)

A quick hello from freezing cold Michigan!
(Took these pictures in literally two minutes because 10 degrees in November is just unacceptable. Bring back the forties, Mother Nature!)

This weekend consisted of watching a lot of cross country running (my little sister's team won Div. II Nationals, woohoo!),  drinking tons of coffee to stay warm, fan-girling over Catching Fire, and cleaning in preparation for my aunt and cousins' arrival today.

As much as I love and look forward to eating (and eating, and eating...) all the delicious food on Thanksgiving, my favorite part of the holiday is spending time with my family members who we don't get to see as often as we would like. My cousins, sisters, and I are all very close and it is a guarantee whenever we all get together we are in for a crazy-weird, but awesome time. Perhaps this year we will get The Nacho Band back together for a post-meal performance. And yes, The Nacho Band was a real thing. Our #1 single? Nacho Man (just switch out "nacho" for "macho" in The Macho Man song and you'll get the idea). You know you're jealous of how cool we are :)

Happy Tuesday! Safe travels this holiday!

Print Mix

Coat - A|Wear (similar) // Turtleneck - J.Crew // Skirt - J.Crew (want this skirt) // Boots - Steven (old, similar here) // Necklace - Baublebar // Shades - Ray-Ban

Running was and is a big part of my life and my family's life. The majority of our family vacations the last 10 years have revolved around cross country and track meets.

How does this relate to a personal style post you ask? Well, my teammates and I were pretty competitive and wanted to be as fast as our abilities allowed, and would say that we wanted to be "cheetah fast", thus we bought every running related item in sight that had what looked to be cheetah print on it: ribbons, hair ties, socks, shorts, you name it we bought it.

This was when leopard was coming back as a popular print and what we took as cheetah was really leopard, but we weren't too technical about it :)

Those days of being The Cheetah Girls (yes, we really did call ourselves that....) are long gone, but my love for all things leopard/cheetah has not left, which is why I had to have this coat as soon as I saw it. Also, I'm excited to announce I will be running the Boston Marathon this spring (eeek!), so I may have to bust out the all cheetah look again. Maybe my Cheetah Girl days aren't behind me after all :)

Autumn Sunsets and Plaid

Jacket - Mango (old, similar here) // Sweater - J.Crew // Shirt - H&M (similar) // Pants - H&M (love these) // Shoes - no brand, Keds version here // Necklace - J.Crew (on sale!) // Purse - Milly (old, loving this bag)

I had my dad snap a few pictures of my outfit before my sister and I went out this evening (sorry for the slight bluriness..silly daylight savings time and work). It was my mom's turn to host the neighborhood ladies' monthly Bunco night, which means the rest of us had the choice to hide in our rooms for the entire evening or retreat. We chose the latter and down in a nearby coffee shop.

I won't lie, being at the coffee shop *almost* made me miss being in school, but only because I miss having a purpose for why I'm hanging out there for hours at a time. Nowadays I feel a little silly when I hang out at my local coffee shop when all I'm doing is scrolling through Pinterest and online window shopping, even though it doesn't stop me from doing just that :).

However, I must say it felt pretty good tonight overhearing the group of girls behind me diligently working on a presentation and paper knowing all I had on my agenda was look at pretty pictures of clothes, food, cities, and baby animals :)

Luck o' the Irish

 Coat - H&M // Sweater - Borrowed from Grandma :) // Skirt - J.Crew (on major sale here!) // Heels - Kelly&Katie (similar) // Earrings - Pearl Paradise // Necklace - Baublebar // Purse - Milly (on sale!)

Every year in college St. Patrick's Day magically fell on an unseasonably warm day in March. Last year I ran around campus wearing shorts and it was 80 degrees! Unfortunately with my days of being an undergrad done, it seems as though the St. Patty's Day warm streak ended as well. I'm not sure if you can tell, but it was f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g cold out when I snapped these shots of my work party outfit. Let's hope for some Irish luck that the weekend will warm up a wee bit to make the celebrations even more enjoyable! Where's a leprechaun when you need one? :)

Until we meet again ;)
